| Description | Original antique sea chart by Reinier & Joshua Ottens after Frederick de Wit, printed in 1745, of much of the Atlantic, including the coast of North and South America from New York ( Nieu Amsteldam), Long Island and New England to Terra Nova and from Venezuela to Brazil along with Antilles, Azores, Cape Verde islands, part of Hispaniola, and Bermuda. This sea chart was originally engraved by Frederick de Wit in 1675. The plate passed to J. & R. Ottens who updated the info for the edition of Otten's Sea Atlas ['Atlas van de Zeevaart'] in 1745. |
