A
beautifully detailed map of Belgium and Luxembourg showing parts
of Holland, France and Germany. as well. The maps has original hand
coloring; the cartouche has later tasteful hand coloring. This map (
dated 1747) shows fortified cities, villages, roads, bridges,
forests, castles etc. The title cartouche in the upper left corner shows
the 10 heraldic crests of the nations depicted. This map was drawn in
Nuremberg by Tobias Maier and was included in 'Atlas Geographicus
Maior', Homann Heirs, Nuremberg in 1759. |
