of the world details the tracks of Cook's three voyages as well as those
of several other navigators, including Mendana 1595, Quiros 1606, Le
Maire and Schouten 1616, Tasman 1642 and Bougainville 1768, Furneaux,
Wallis a/o. The original English edition was printed in 1777 when Cook's
second voyage was published. The French edition was engraved by Bernard
and printed from 1778 on. The top right margin states pl. 2. There are
